Turning Point’s crisis programs also include our innovative Living Room Program. The Living Room offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for adults in crisis. The Living Room’s talented team, which includes therapists, a nurse, and trained Peer Counselors, work to help guests resolve their presenting crisis with a supportive and empathic approach. The Living Room offers a number of services including support and assistance with problem solving, referrals for shelter, healthcare and food and a safe space in which to rest or relax. The Living Room is currently open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, 3-8pm. The Living Room serves only adults over the age of 18, without the restriction of a catchment area.
The Living Room staff can be reached during open hours at 847-933-9202. Individuals experiencing a crisis outside of Living Room hours can call our 24 hour crisis line at 847-933-0051, and follow the prompts to reach a crisis worker.
