Turning Point is contracted to provide Emergency Service on a 24/7 basis for all residents of Niles Township and adult residents of Northfield/New Trier Township. No one who calls the crisis line experiencing a psychiatric crisis is denied access to services, unless the client has been administratively discharged from EST as a result of misuse of the service. The crisis line is available to individuals of all ages, both children and adults.
Anyone experiencing a psychiatric emergency, regardless of age, geographic location, or status as a Turning Point client, may contact our crisis line 24/7 to speak with a crisis worker to help resolve their crisis. To reach a crisis worker, call 847-933-9202.
Turning Point currently serves as the CCBYS agency that manages lockout and runaway adolescent crisis cases for Niles Township. Please contact the CCBYS Information and Referral Line (CCBYS IRL) at 877-870-2663 for additional assistance regarding the contact information for other CCBYS agencies in the surrounding catchment area.
Grants from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services enable Turning Point to provide qualified staff from a core crisis team to respond to crises and psychiatric emergencies at any time of the day or night. Emergency services are provided through telephone consultation and face-to-face assessment and triage. Emergency services are accessed through an answering service and crisis cell phone system for rapid response.
