Researchers from the University of Washington in St. Louis and the University of Granada in Spain have found that schizophrenia is actually made up of a combination of eight genetically different diseases, each of which has its own symptoms. In the past, researchers tried to identify one specific gene that caused schizophrenia, but in this study, they looked at different groups of genes and how they work together.
