Turning Point’s therapeutic groups program provides an open door to a wide array of opportunities for learning, personal growth, and supportive fellowship within a vibrant and welcoming community.
Turning Point is proud to maintain a groups program that is unusually expansive and diverse, providing vital support and structure to clients as part of their overall treatment plans. Our groups are not meant to serve as free-standing treatment plans, but they do augment therapy and provide an invaluable daily structure and critical community support for our many group members.
Operating throughout the day, five days a week, groups at Turning Point are available for many levels of ability. Groups meet weekly and are wide ranging, providing help with socialization, skill building, self-care, peer support, coping skills, and symptom management. Our many popular offerings focus on such areas as:
While most of our group members are Turning Point clients, this is not a requirement. Individuals regularly seeing therapists outside of Turning Point may qualify to participate in our groups program.
Supported by this robust structure of support, many of the participants in our groups program grow to see Turning Point as a second home where they will be welcomed, heard, supported and respected. The groups program at Turning Point encourages clients to engage in peer support, to learn new skills, to productively structure their day, and to develop insight, self awareness, and an increased understanding of themselves and others – all within the safe and compassionate confines of a community dedicated to solid support.
