Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center has announced the recent election of new officers and the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors.
The new roster of officers effective July 1, 2017 includes Scott Kaplan, President; Neil Gambow, Vice President; Brian Clarke, Secretary; and Michael Corr, Treasurer. Returning for an additional term are Board members Carolyn Anthony, P. Scott Holtz, Candice Hughes, Margaret Kray, Kathleen Occhipinti, Randall Roberts and Joel Rubin. The new Board members, each of whom will serve three-year term effective July 1, 2017, are Gene Griffin, Diana Juarez, and Vincent Smith.

Gene Griffin, JD, PhD
Dr. Griffin is a clinical psychologist and attorney who has worked for over thirty years in the fields of child trauma, children's mental health, and juvenile justice. He is retired from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine where he was involved in research, training, and public policy. He has published extensively and lectured internationally. He has also practiced as a clinician and an assistant public defender in juvenile court. He currently serves as Chair of the Illinois Children's Mental Health Partnership. Gene and his family have lived in Skokie for over twenty-five years.
Diana Juarez, MA
Diana Juarez has served as Director of the Niles Township Schools' English Language Learner Parent Center since 2013, helping immigrant parents of all backgrounds have a better understanding of the education and health systems to better support their children. The daughter of immigrants herself, she was in the first generation to attend college and received degrees in both Communication and Linguistics. Diana is a life-long resident of Chicago and lives with her husband in Edgewater.
Vincent D. Smith, BS, MBA
Mr. Smith is Director of Digital Marketing Strategy and Business Development for Harland Clarke, Inc. where he and his team of strategists develop and execute digital marketing programs for financial services organizations. He has served in several consulting, product management and business development roles for companies providing digital marketing, supply chain and logistics management solutions. He has an MBA in Finance & Marketing and has prior experience in non-profit Board membership. Vince and his wife Nancy are the parents of two young adults and are long-term residents of Deerfield.
