An Update from our CEO:
Dear Members of the Turning Point Community,
I want to begin by thanking our creative, hard-working team for the insightful conversations we’ve been having during the past few weeks. I am writing this message with the benefit of their wisdom and support.
Turning Point will not reopen for client services on July 6. Our facility will not be available until we are able to evaluate the success of the State of Illinois in maintaining virus numbers that keep us solidly in Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan (rather than seeing an increase in numbers that put us back in Phase 3) . I anticipate that our reopen date may not occur until later this summer but we will do so as soon as we safely can. We will carefully monitor our local and State health data and follow Governor Pritzker’s guidance. Prior to reopening, our staff will begin meetings and conversations to design a plan that ensures the best possible health and safety for everyone who utilizes our facility.
I know that many of you will be disappointed that we do not have a specific date for reopening. I wish that I could provide something more concrete. We miss our clients, our routines, and just being together as a community of colleagues. But now it is most important to be safe and to follow the guidance of our State government.
I can assure you that we will reopen as soon as we can and that that will be a day of celebration. Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging time. I am grateful for each of you.
