Free Teen Support Group

Asking for a Friend

With the support of the Skokie Community Foundation, Turning Point Behavioral Health and Skokie Public Library are collaborating on a year-long program for teens entitled Asking for a Friend.

Once a month for ten months in 2026, this free drop-in support group is being held after school at Skokie Public Library. Created as a forum in which teens can ask questions about mental health and explore issues that are important to them, this program is led by a Turning Point therapist alongside Skokie Public Library staff. Topics are chosen with the input of the group and central to each discussion is a goal of promoting empathy, compassion, and mutual respect.

This program has been a longtime partnership between Turning Point and Skokie Public Library and we are grateful for the support of the Skokie Community Foundation which has allowed us to provide this important resource for area teens.

For scheduling information, please see Skokie Public Library’s calendar or check Turning Point Behavioral Health’s Facebook page for updates.
