Community Clean-Up Day!

Turning Point community members gathered once again to participate in the Village of Skokie’s “Clean Green Skokie” program!

On November 17th, members of the Turning Point staff, board, YPF members, and their kids and families spent a chilly Sunday afternoon cleaning up our neighborhood!

Teams worked together to tackle sidewalk and property clean-up and garden tending. Information about recycling was displayed at the event and kids could participate in a scavenger hunt game where they searched for a variety of items outdoors. Whether picking up garbage along the street and parking lot, or working in our garden, our volunteer team had an active, fun and productive day…even in the cold!

With this project, we were happy to raise enthusiasm about community volunteerism, educate about recycling efforts and environmental stewardship, and support our community by participating in the local adopt a street and ‘Clean Green Skokie’ program. We also submitted this project for inclusion in the Disney Points of Light program.

The Turning Point team is very much looking forward to our next community clean-up day and to doing our part to keep Skokie clean and green!
