Announcing closure of two crisis programs
Closure effective July 1, 2026
Dear Turning Point Community:
After careful consideration and because of changes in program requirements and the denial of continued funding by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center regrets to announce that the following crisis programs will be closing effective July 1, 2026:
- The Skokie Living Room
- The Mobile Crisis Response Team
Starting July 1st, if you or someone you know has a psychiatric emergency, please follow these steps:
- If anyone is at immediate risk of danger from themselves or someone else, please call 911.
- If risk of danger is not immediate, but could be soon, or you or someone you know wants to speak with crisis worker or have one come to your location, please call 988.
- If risk of danger is not immediate, but could be soon, or you or someone you know wants to speak with crisis worker in person, our Evanston Living Room will still be in operation. The Evanston Living Room is located at 311 Elmwood Ave, Evanston, IL. Open Daily 12 pm – 8 pm.
Turning Point is committed to minimizing disruption to individuals receiving services. We are working closely with elected officials and community partners to ensure continuity of care and access to alternative crisis resources, whenever possible. As we receive updates about the availability of other crisis services in our area, we will share those with clients, families, and community partners.
As always, our clinical programs continue to support our community through case management, individual, couples, and family therapy, and community support groups. Anyone interested in starting clinical services at Turning Point can call 847-933-0051 x 0, Monday–Friday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
