Turning Point launches 50th Anniversary!

For Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center, January 2019 marks the beginning of a year-long celebration, celebrating 50 years in Skokie.

The golden anniversary year will begin with the January 7th opening of a primary care clinic within the Turning Point facility, operated by Heartland Health Centers and representing the latest in a long history of creative collaborations for Turning Point.

To supplement care for its clientele and foster a more holistic healthcare community, Turning Point has, over the years, welcomed into its expansive Skokie Boulevard facility several organizations including NAMI Cook County North Suburban, Apna Ghar, and Impact Behavioral Health Partners.  With the generous support of NorthShore University HealthSystem and North Suburban Healthcare Foundation, a large area in the southwest corner of the Turning Point building was recently renovated and equipped for use as a Heartland Health Centers primary care clinic.  Opening on January 7, the clinic will offer a wide range of services for Turning Point clients as well as the community at large.  More information here.

“We are so excited to be launching our 50th year with the opening of this valuable new resource for our community,” said Turning Point CEO Ann Fisher Raney. “From our award-winning crisis center The Living Room, to our streamlined Open Access intake program, to our many collaborations with other agencies, Turning Point has a history of seeking out new ways to serve our community and expand our level of care. We are thrilled to continue that tradition by launching our 50th anniversary year with this new collaboration with Heartland Health Centers.”

The 50th anniversary year at Turning Point will feature a number of events throughout the year including Turning Point’s Annual Town Hall Meeting on February 15, and the Annual Rising to the Challenge Benefit on June 21.
